A Must Read For All Baseball Pitchers

The Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) joins the humerus to the ulna at the elbow joint which helps to stabilize the elbow during each pitch. At a certain point in everyone's throwing motion pressure is placed on the UCL because of the stress that pulls the bones at the elbow joint apart. A common injury for pitchers is the tearing of the UCL which requires UCL reconstruction; aka Tommy John Surgery. Research suggests that limited hip range of motion (ROM) can increase the risk of tearing the UCL because pitchers with a limited hip ROM tend to put more torque on stress from every pitch. Find out how some ways to prevent UCL tears from happening by reading this blog post from YogaTuneUp.com.
