Split-Stance Anti-Rotaional Scoop Toss

As we've said before, baseball players need to rotate their bodies every time they throw, swing or pitch and that can put a lot of stress on their lower backs throughout the course of a season. Here is another anti-rotational exercise we incorporate into our athletic development program. The "Split-Stance Anti-Rotaional Scoop Toss" trains hip/trunk separation through good thoracic mobility and teaches athletes to have a firm front side for accepting force. One issue that most hitters and pitchers have is the inability to "stiffen up" on their front side of their lower extremity when performing competitive movements, like throwing a baseball. Here is a quick look at the scoop toss in this video and a link to an article that discusses this exercise in further detail.
