Split Stance High-Low Chop

Now that most of our baseball players are in-season, we have modified our in-season training program to include some anti-rotational core exercises. Baseball players need to rotate their bodies every time they throw, swing or pitch and that can put a lot of stress on their lower backs throughout the course of a season. We love the idea of getting our athletes to put their arms up over their bodies, so the Split-Stance High-Low Chop is on of our favorite anti-rotational core exercises. Also, it forces the athlete to engage their anterior core to prevent their lower back from arching. Check out this demonstration of the High-Low Chop in this video by Eric Cressey.
