Bodyweight Training

Push ups and Chin ups are often exercises that athletes struggle with. The problem with learning these exercises is that because its a bodyweight exercise, its hard to work with our weight since we don't have the starting strength to perform them. The answer is to work on the eccentric portion of the lift (the negative or lowering action). By training in such a manner, we develop the strength to control our weight which then crossovers to the ability to lift our weight.
